GHP Properties LLC has started a $1.5-million medical office project on Rockford Street where South Street runs into Sunset Drive, just southwest of Northern Hospital of Surry County. GHP Properties (Dr. Glenn and Hazel Pfitzner) owns three vacant lots totaling about 6 acres with an assessed value of about $473,000. Two lots front on Sunset Drive. The third is a curious triangle that sat between Rockford and Old Rockford streets. The latter’s pavement has been removed during the site-prep work.

Dr. Pfitzner is a board-certified gastroenterologist whose current office is at 915 Rockford St.

John S. Clark Company Inc. is the project’s general contractor.
