August 16th, 2007 · No Comments

Outdoors enthuasists with their sights set on paintball combat seek out The Meadow Paintball at 134 Marvin Edwards Lane in State Road, reports Jeremy Moorhouse in the Elkin Tribune.

Now in its fourth year of operation under owners Junior and Joyce Andrews, The Meadow Paintball has become a hot spot for paintball enthusiasts from nearby counties and cities, including Winston-Salem. The Meadow has four fields: speedball, scenario, x-ball and woods. Most of the general public plays on the weekend, with the biggest groups typically coming on Sunday. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 1:30 to 6 p.m. Sundays. The Meadow Paintball often hosts youth groups and birthday parties. It is open by appointment on weekdays.

Junior Andrews himself has played paintball for years. He said safety is a prime concern. Players are not allowed in the fields without full-face paintball masks and participants have to turn off the guns before leaving the field. Referees accompany players onto the field.

The Meadows Paintball sells new and used paintball guns, ammo, goggles, loaders and parts.

Field use costs $5 per day. Debit and credit cards are accepted.
