The North Carolina Board of Transportation has awarded Adams Construction Co. of Roanoke, Va., a $5-million contract to repave 5.5 miles of I-74 from I-77 to U.S. 601 in Surry County. The project may begin in late August. Completion is scheduled for late November. Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicles, also known as Garvee bonds, will finance the project.
Adams Construction’s Mountain Division plant is at 381 Quarry Road in Mount Airy. Richard Henderson is the local manager.
